  Conrail inherited 77 units from Penn Central, 12 from Lehigh Valley, and 10 new, assigning them to series CR 2700-2798.

  Conrail inherited 19 units from Penn Central, assigning them to series CR 6700-6718. They were eventually renumbered into the 6900 series.

  Conrail inherited their 179 U25B's from Penn Central (former Pennsylvania Railroad, New Haven, and New York Central units), and Erie Lackawanna, assigning them series CR 2500-2685.

U25C
  Conrail inherited their fleet of 20 U25C's from Penn Central, which inherited them from the Pennsylvania Railroad. Conrail assigned them to series CR 6500-6519.

U28B
  Conrail owned only two U28B's, both former-New York Central units from Penn Central, CR 2822 an 2823. They were retired during the early 1980's.

U28C
  Conrail's 2800 horsepower U28C's were built for the PRR in 1960 and then given to Penn Central. Conrail originally assigned U28C's to coal drags and merchandise freights between Albany and Buffalo.

  Conrail inherited 28 U30B's from Penn Central (former New York Central), assigning them series CR 2830-2857. There have been no modeling or prototype articles in the mainstream press on these CR and PC locomotives.

  Conrail inherited their fleet of 10 U30C's from the Penn Central and the Reading Company. Conrail assigned them to series CR 6535-6539 and 6579-6583 respectively.

  Conrail inherited 24 U33C's from Penn Central and 15 from the Erie Lackawanna. Conrail assigned them to series CR 6540-6578 then renumbered them to 6845-6882.

  These former EL units handeled passenger trains over EL tracks for New Jersey Dept. of Transportation. All went to NJ Transit on 2 December 1976. Conrail series 4151-4182.

  The four 3,600hp U36B's that Conrail purchased from GE in 1976 were originally built for the Auto Train to Seaboard Coast Line specs but were never delivered to AT. Conrail assigned them series CR 2971-2974.
