John writes, U30C 6579 was photographed at Mifflin, PA heading west behind a black SD-45 on a trailer train. This is summertime in either 1978 or 1979. There is a red fire extinguisher showing inside the open hood door of the SD-45. I wonder if the crew thought they might need it.

Repainted former RDG 6300. It looks as if no external changes were made when it was repainted. I thought the shape over the fireman's cab was a horn, but I believe it is a signal mast of some sort.
