To make room for the new C30-7A's in the early 1980's, Conrail renumbered the surviving U33C's into series 6845-6883, which had originally been occupied by RSD12's.

Kevin says that all EL U33C's were numbered 3301-3315 and were delivered in two groups. EL 3301-3306 were built in 1968 and were delivered with the nose emblem in reverse paint, like a photo negative. It was GE's screw-up. Unfortunately, this is not one of those locos.
