Rob says the unit was so fresh out of Juniata Shops that he could smell the paint! He also noticed that the "SD70" designation on the battery box of this loco was done black, unlike on other SD70's, which are white.

A year after the end of Conrail, CR 2568 might have been the last or one of the last Conrail locomotives still in its original paint without Norfolk Southern re-numbering decals. CR 2568 is plying the old Lehigh Secondary.

Captured on the Lower River track. Tony says that the unit was the lead unit on extra ATPI-3X (Altoona, PA to Pittsburgh-Conway West Yard, PA) after being released from the Juniata Shops. Well, the reason it is sitting in Conemaugh in this photo is because it experienced major computer problems and had to be set off here because the troubleshooters couldn't get the loco to cooperate.
