All SD-70's were built to NS specs. The Conrail SD-70 is too new a locomotive for my tastes, which ends around 1997. They are interesting units, but look to much like NS jobs to make me happy. Captured on the Lower River track. Tony says that the unit was the lead unit on ATPI-3X (Altoona, PA - Pittsburgh/Conway, PA) after being released from the Juniata Shops. Well, the reason it is sitting in Conemaugh in this photo is because it experienced major computer problems and had to be set off here because the troubleshooters couldn't get the loco to cooperate.
