A really nice elevated shot of the rear end of a typical Conrail C30-7A. I really spent some time looking over this photo. A number of details I never noticed before! Thumbnail shows only portion of total image.

The 6556 is looking resplendent in its brand new Quality paint. When fresh and in good sun, Conrail blue sure looked good. Plus I always have liked the Quality scheme. Tom isn't exactly sure the year he shot this.

This unit has U-Boat style tall engine doors with latches on the top and bottom, instead of the center latches on a standard C30-7A.

The 6561 leads BOEL at Washington, MA. The C30-7A's had just started showing up on the B&A at this time and were only a couple of months old.

A typical unit repainted into the Quality scheme. I took as many detail photos of it that I could take, though it was parked in a cut, making it difficult to get engineer side shots. Was lead unit on PICC, which had outlawed for several days in this spot. Thanks go to John Schodowski who watched for oncoming trains while I snapped away these shots! Then Lon Godshall just happened to appear shortly after we were done...small world.
