Here is proof that the famous pair of SD9's that worked the hump yard did go out on local train runs. Here 6909 leads APB-2 from across the river in Allentown to Bethlehem. The unit survived in Bethlehem in storage until at least late 1981.

We used to think that the Allentown Hump SD9's left the area when done, but they got put into storage down by the engine terminal, until that was cleaned out in the early 1980s.
