Penn Central 4977 was originally New Haven 377, which is pictured below. The unit never got its Conrail numbers, which would have been the same as the PC ones, though CR would have painted out the logos. The red flag in the coupler indicates that the engine saw at least some service before Conrail retired it in late-1977.

An historical photo of NH 377 still in original, if somewhat battered, original colors. The unit was eventually repainted PC 4977 above. It survived in storage at Harrisburg, PA, in PC colors and fairly good shape until it was retired late-1977.
