Conrail #9998 (former Erie Lackawanna #1060) was the only RS-3M Erie Lackawanna built. Arnie believes this was rebuilt with the prime mover from Erie Lackawanna E8A #823. With the formation of Conrail in April 1976, Erie Lackawanna couldn't build any more RS-3M's.
