The Lehigh & Hudson River was the only railroad to contribute the C-420 to Conrail in 1976, with six units being transferred to Conrail from a total of nine L&HR units. The Lehigh Valley's 12 C-420's went to the Delaware & Hudson instead of Conrail. The L&HR C-420's lacked dynamic brakes, rode on AAR Type-B trucks, and had full classification lights. Most, if not all the units, stayed on the eastern portion of the Conrail system, based out of terminals such as Bethlehem, PA, and Warwick, NY. Former L&HR 21 was eventually repainted blue and renumbered CR 2072, but only got CR initials on the nose and no logo. This was the only C-420 to wear blue paint. The rest were retired in their original L&HR colors but with CR stencils.
Comprehensive ALCo C-420 Roster
The roster below is comprehensive for the ALCo C-420's when they arrived April 1, 1976 on Conrail from the Lehigh & Hudson River Railway. until their last day of service on Conrail. The roster includes each unit's first disposition when known. A special thanks to Conrail Motive Power Review: Volume 1 by Lloyd Jr and Marre.

Roster Notes:
1. I'm not sure if A&M got 2073 and 2074 from Conrail or if the units went to another owner prior to A&M getting them. Regardless, I'm listing their disposition here until corrected. Leo Ames mentions that they first operated for the Maryland & Delaware as their 52 and 54 after their short CR career had ended. Owned by the DMV Corporation, they were shifted to DMV's Arkansas & Missouri when they standardized the M&D on T6's and RS1's.
Leo also mentions that CR 2077 was renumbered by the D&H from D&H 401 to D&H 420 when Guilford controlled the D&H (whose colors she wore when DMV bought her for use on the Arkansas & Missouri).
