    Not exactly Conrail, but Conrail did inherit many of these from the PC who never modified them from the PRR. Conrail left many in PC/PRR colors and never modified them either. Uses an Athearn shell and Cannon & Co cab. Proto info and good modeling instructions.

    Uses an Athearn SW-7 to build a single-stack NYC SW-8. Techniques can be used to create other roads' SW-8's.

  • "Modeling New York Central and Pennsylvania SW-1 Switchers," Jim Six. Model Railroading. March 93, 56+.
    A great history and modeling of the NYC and PRR SW-1's. Jim's techniques are good for doing a PC or CR model. A photo of a CR unit #8400 with replaced front cab windows is given. Check photos of PC and CR units to see if Jim's tips will work for your model.
