- "Conrail E8," Don Coppola. Mainline Modeler. Aug 94, 26-29.
Detailing and painting the olive green version CR 4021 (neeAmtrak) E8 using an AHM shell. Life-Like Proto 2000 can be substituted; however, the predecorated models of the 4021 and 4020 have Mars lights, which is incorrect. You will have to buy the undecorated version without Mars lights--or strip the paint from a predecorated model--and work from there.
- CR 4020 (neeAmtrak) E8 olive green, plus close-ups, b&w no date
- "Diesel Detail: EMD E8 on the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad." Model Railroading. Sep/Oct 84, 8.
I don't own this issue. Any details would be appreciated.
- "The Executive E," Dan Cupper. Trains. Jan 84, 24+.
Conrail’s business car train and E8 4022.
- "Atlas Erie Lackawanna E8," Preston Cook. Railroad Model Craftsman. Oct 83, 74-77.
Kitbash Award article for using an Atlas O scale E8 to create EL 813. Includes color photo of prototype EL 813. While O scale, the tips Preston gives can be applied to other scales as well using the Life-Like E8.
- "Diesel Detail: Reading Company (RDG) FP-7," Rich Picariello. Model Railroading. Aug 96, 56-58.
A brief overview of the prototype, with detail part list.
- RDG 900, RDG 901, RDG 902, RDG 903.
- "Diesel Detail: Erie-Lackawanna EMD F-7A & B." Model Railroading. Sept/Oct 00, 56+.
- "The Colorful Penn Central... Modeling Penn Central F7s," Jim Six. Model Railroading. July 93, 20+.
Classic Jim Six modeling article, though the info is dated since all the F7 releases. Still excellent reference with HO drawings and painting guide.
- "Diesel Detail: EMD F-7A as Pennsylvania RR (Penn Central) no. 1903." Railmodel Journal. Oct 90, 10-11.
Very brief info and details list for PC painted-out PRR F-7A.
