N-8 Caboose: CR 23292
Another custom painted and weathered model by Lenny. This time it's an N-8 caboose CR 23292, which is a former Penn Central caboose with the same number. Notice how the roof walks have been either fully or partially removed as was required by law.

X73 Boxcar: xPC 369327
Like all of his models featured here at the CRCyc, Lenny custom painted and weathered this CR-stenciled former Penn Central X73 boxcar in HO scale. Lenny kept the large PC logo, but painted out the smaller logos and reporting marks. This was a common practice during the early days of Conrail, when a car would come into a shop for minor repairs and leave with its new Conrail number. Often the shop was in such a rush to get the car back in service that they would simply forgoe painting the larger logo, since it took more time and money.

H44 Covered Hoppers
Lenny custom painted and weathered CR 884812 and CR 884139, Atlas HO models of H44 class covered hoppers. The chemicals on the roof hatches of 884812 are an impressive detail. For more information on the H44, along with prototype photos and some modeling tips, see the H42/H44 pages in the Covered Hopper section of the CRCyc.

H42A Covered Hoppers
Lenny custom painted and weathered CR 885015 and CR 885031, Atlas HO models of an H42A class covered hopper, which are similar to the H44 above. Lenny's modeling of modern graffiti is especially well done, along with the rusting gouges. As above, check the H42/H44 pages in the Covered Hopper section for more information.
