Nearly new MT-6 slug CR 1103 was teamed up with SD-38 CR 6953 on this dreary day. This unit exhibits the original paint scheme, complete with black numberboards.

Conrail added a white safety stripe to the unit when it was repainted. CR 1107 could typically be found working out of Allentown during the late 1990s. The unit was dead it tow along with its SD-38 master, returning to Allentown from its maintenance inspection in Enola.

Ed mentions that modelers should pay particular attention to the build up of grime on all of the top surfaces. As I remember, these slugs and the SD-38's they were paired with accumulated a great deal of brake dust and yard grime that rain did not seem to wash away.

CR 1111 is paired with its mother SD-38, CR 6956. If you zoom in you can see the accumulation of Yard Grime on the top surfaces of the locomotive and the slug.
