The fist MT-4 slug that Conrail created here looks fairly worn for its age, even though it had been repainted with white numberboards since it first rolled out of the shops in January 1979. CR 1000 originally came from CR 7634 (PC 7634/PRR 8634).

CR 1002 originally rolled out of the shops in February 1979, the product of CR 7636 (PC 7636/PRR 8636). Like Arnie's shot of 1000 above, this unit only had a little over two years of service left until retirement.

Former ERIE 1150, a Baldwin DRS-6-6-1500 that was turned into a slug. According to X2200S #72, EL removed this unit from the roster prior to Conrail, though it wasn't officially retired until 11/15/79. Conrail never included it in their roster. Seen here in the scrap line. Naporano bought it for scrap in January 1980.
