CR 1776 is seen here in its Bicentennial paint scheme. In 1976 Conrail painted seven other locomotives commemorating our nation's 200th birthday. While some folks were glad to see these units return a year later to the standard blue scheme, I have always enjoyed them. A part of my childhood, I guess.
