6528 is mid-lashup in on the old Lackawanna mainline. John says that he had the great fortune of catching a coal train for the PP&L plant in Portland, Pa. on November 24, 1978. This is one of the last, if not the last, coal train over this line until January 1997. None have run since. In one month Conrail abandoned the line.

Conrail U28C 6827 is looking about as bad as a unit can look at Collinwood on 08-21-83. This former PC unit has been banded up to keep 'part poachers' from removing needed parts. Coupled up with sister 6828, these two are headed for the scraper.
