This is an interesting situation! The photo of 2571 above was actually taken prior to Roger's. With the EL emblem still on the nose, you would think that this photo would have been taken earlier. Here are the tip-offs that this photo was taken later. First, 2571 has a cab signal box by this time. Also, the paint blocking the long hood's EL logo has been peeling off. How about the EL logo? Simple--someone took paint thinner and removed the paint from the stencil job. This happend to some RDG engines as well. A reminder of how much the transition-era crews hated Conrail. Finally, Roger points out that the 2571 was retired in this paint scheme. I unique situation for early-Conrail modelers!
