Magazine Articles:
- "Conrail's Original Beast--The SD-45-2," Dan Bourque. Railroad Model Craftsman. March 2000, 52-58.
A good modeling article with an unusally generous amount of prototype information. Uses a Rail Power Products SD-45-2 shell and Cannon & Company parts. Creates a good model. I disagree with his choice of number board decals--they don't match the prototype. I haven't bothered to check if a closer match is available. This is a minor quibble compared to the overall model. Chose CR 6661 to model.

- "Diesel Detail: EMD SD-45-2 as Erie Lackawanna 3679." Railmodel Journal. Dec 94, 30-31.
Usual brief proto info. Paint, decal, and detail list.
- "Action on the Nation's Busiest Helper District Locomotives of the Cresson Helper Pool," Jim Six. Model Railroading. April 92, 16-23.
Great overview of the area when Jim Six was going to model the area. General tips for modeling the SD-35, SD-40, SD-40-2, SD-45-2, SDP-45/SD-45M, and SD-50. Many photos. First in a series of articles.
