Though still painted in PC colors with a CR stencil, this car appears to have been sold off to a private company. The first three numerals have been changed and a sloppy 'W' added to the reporting marks. This number is not in any CR register. I believe it's a G52. Conrail purchased 300 G52A coil cars new in late 1977 from Thrall. Conrail assigned them to the series CR 628001-628300. One hood is CR but the other looks like a blue, rusted CSX, though the logo is obscured. Location: Norristown, PA 8-18-04 Photo Online: May 6, 2005 |
