X72 Boxcars: Life-Like N Modeling
Probably long after the Norfolk Southern and CSX takeover of Conrail, the X72 will still be plying the rails under its many Conrail paint scheme variations. It's just that common a boxcar. Fortunately for N modelers, creating an good model couldn't be easier.
Modeling the X72 in N scale is very easy. Life-Like produces a nice replica of this boxcar under their Industrial Heritage line. However, repainting this model is essential. The weld seams are a bit over-scale, but this could be used for an X68 stand-in. With a price tag of only $3.00, this model is a true Conrail bargain.
